Introduction to limestone

The major component of limestone is CaCO3. lime and limestone are used as building material, also as important materials for other industries. Limestone can be directly processed into stone materials or burnt into raw lime. Lime has two kinds: raw lime and slaked lime. The major component of raw lime is CaO, generally in briquttes and white color. If being wet, raw lime will become the slaked lime. The main content of slaked lime is Ca(OH)2 and this lime can be processed into lime slurry or gypsum, used as coating material and tile adhesive.
